The Master Gardeners have created a historical herb garden at the Ireland Hofer House in Monroe Twp. The garden consists of 4 raised beds each with a different theme. A dye bed full of plants historically used to dye garments. A culinary bed full of herbs used for cooking, a medicinal bed complete with all the necessary herbs to take care of conditions from the common cold to severe bleeding and a floral bed to decorate the historic home. Our group established the garden beds for the Monroe Twp Historical Society. The group usually meets the second Thursday of the month at 11 am during the growing season.
